Welcome Racers

Hello everyone, here are some more details about the upcoming series opener at Canyon Vista R/C.
Schedule for Next weekend in Tucson:
Friday May 11th: Canyon Vista will open for practice at 5PM with Racing at 7PM. Nitro and Electric vehicles welcome.
Saturday May 12th: The track and shop will open at 10AM. The track will be open for practice with regular water.
Registration will begin at 3:00PM and will conclude at 5:00PM.
Practice will end at 5PM so the guys can prep the track for Round 1.

Racing starts at 5:30PM with 2 rounds of qualifying by rocket round.
The track will be watered throughout the event so that the track doesn't become dry. When we do water it will be lightly so that the track doesn't cake up your tires.
They did this through the Spring Series with excellent results and minimal tire wear!!

Each racer will receive an event tshirt at round 1.
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 in each class with medals sponsored by:
Anti-Hangover.com Electric 1/8 Buggy
Team Terribles Open Buggy
Big D's R/C's Pro Buggy
Quick's R/C H 1/8 Novice
Terrible's R/C.com Truggy

I'm gearing up to run quickly through the program but giving us our well deserved run time. I'm thinking 3.5 hours for Qualifying and another 2.5-3 for mains. Looking at about 11:30 to Midnight for a finish to the final main. If you're in an earlier main then of course you'll finish up before that.

Order of the A mains:
Electric 1/8
Truggy
Novice
Open Buggy
Pro Buggy

Keys to us getting done Saturday rather than Sunday:

  • If you are back to back racing at any point, you should find a replacement marshall prior to your 1st of the two.

  • There's no way I can stack races to eliminate this scenario, so be prepared to take care of your own issues.

  • If you are physically unable to marshall, please see me before the start of racing to discuss options. I completely understand these issues and will be more than happy to give a free pass. Even so, it is always a bonus if you can find someone to fill in, even partially.

  • If you are physically able to marshall and you don't, please be aware of the KBRL Rules and penalties.

  • With club racing, I always give every possible opportunity to get a full heat of racers. I often wait for glow plug changes, tire changes, etc... For KBRL, we just don't have time for these delays so make sure you have your stuff ready to go before each trip to pit lane. No 1 minute calls in Qualifying, only the mains..
